  First Holy Communion 2021 Online/Virtual Preparation *For students in their second year of Sacramental prep (Level 2 / Heritage Yr. 2) *Check your email for your child's Sacrament dates! (Emailed March 4)   For families of students who will be receiving their 1st Communion in this year, we ask that you and your child prepare for the Sacrament online by completing this three-part lesson. Special thanks to our Grade 2 coordinators who helped put this lesson together! The lesson begins with an introduction by Fr. John.  In Part I, we will highlight the Mass and all the different parts that make up our Celebration of the Eucharist. In Part II, we will focus on the Eucharist and what we believe as Catholics. We will then take a look inside our church at SJE. We will also hear from one of our First Communion candidates and go over how to receive the Eucharist.  In Part III, we will talk about how the Eucharist gives us the strength to go out into the world and serve others.    A Family of Faith: April - Grade 3 Grade 3 Coordinators: Linda Scanlon & Anne O’Connor One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church Review the Apostles’ Creed and then read and discuss the four marks of the church: the church is holy, the church is Catholic, the church is Apostolic, and the church is one.  (Pages 143-144 AB) Fill in the Blank Activity (page 145 AB) can be done together. Practice the Apostles’ Creed (page 207 PG) with your child regularly and discuss the beliefs. Again, this can be done in increments to make it more manageable. Apostles’ Creed Wrap-Up: read the essay (pages 149-150 AB) and discuss together. St. Catherine of Siena: Read and discuss this saint’s life (page 154 AB) color the picture on the following page. Closing Prayer (page 157 AB): perhaps your child could include at least three things he/she has learned in Faith Formation this year.
