We wish you all the best during this Lenten season. This month will be focusing on the Holy Spirit - the third person of the Blessed Trinity - & the Church! Our Saint of the Month is St. Peter!

Lesson 10 - "I Will Not Leave You as Orphans"

Activity 1: I Will Not Leave You as Orphans: Choose one suggestion for discussion from pages 173-174 from the Parent Guide. Rewrite the bible verse on page 122 from the Activity Book (optional).

Activity 2: Read ahead and discuss the text on pages 175 – 176 (PG) then have your child color the picture on page 124 (AB).

Activity 3: Discuss the Feast of Pentecost (page 125 AB) and then have your child color the picture.

Activity 4: The Birthday of the Church: activity A, paraphrase the account of Pentecost, Acts 2: 1-41 (page 178 PG).

Birthday Song: Optional

Activity 5: Symbols of the Spirit: Read and discuss these symbols on page 181 (PG). You may wish to limit it to these three symbols.


Lesson 11: "I Believe in the Holy Catholic Church"

Activity 1: The Holy Spirit in Our Lives. Show your child the painting on page 188 (PG), discuss the symbols of the dove and fire.  Complete activities A and B. Complete the activity with the prayer of the Holy Spirit found on the bottom of page 166 (PG).

Activity 2: The Church Has Jesus’ Authority: Read and discuss material found on page 191 (PG).  The review (page 130 AB) should be done together (answers on page 193 PG).

St. Peter: Together with your child, read and discuss the biography of St. Peter (pages 194-195 PG) or (pages 131-132 AB). Have your child color page 133 (AB).

Activity 4: Optional

Activity 5: The People of God: Read ahead and discuss page 198 PG. Complete activities on pages 134-135 AB.

Activity 6: The Mission of the Church:  Read and discuss the material found on pages 200-201 PG.  Discuss the activity found on page 201.

Activity 7: Have a family discussion about Our Mission in the Church and the World found on page 202 PG. Optional: Complete page 138 AB.  

Review Words to Know on page 139 AB.

1st Reconciliation Prep 2024

     First Reconciliation 2024 Online Preparation - Due March 2 *For students in their second year of Sacramental prep (Level 2 / Heritage Yr. 2) For families of students who will be receiving their 1st Reconciliation in March 2024, we ask that you and your child prepare for the Sacrament online by completing this three-part lesson. Special thanks to our grade-level coordinators who helped put this lesson together! In Parts I and II,  you and your child will be able to reflect together on God's love and forgiveness through the parable of the Prodigal Son (Part I), and go over how to prepare for and go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Part II). The final part of the lesson is for parents/adults to do on your own and reflect deeper on the power and beauty of this Sacrament (Part III). After completing all three parts, fill out our Google Form (see below). We hope this fosters positive conversations and helps you and your child enter more deeply into the Sacrament of Reconciliation
